In 2026, 800 young researchers from across the country became the winners of the third competitive selection for the appointment of the President of Russia’s scholarships for graduate students and adjuncts.
Each of us will receive a monthly scholarship of 75 thousand rubles. The payment is assigned for a period from one year to four years.
“This year, 800 young scientists became scholarship recipients – that’s 60% more than last year. We see a significant increase in interest in the competition, a high level of projects, and serious competition. Over 6 thousand applications were submitted in total. More than a third of them are dedicated to advanced design technologies and the creation of high-tech products based on the use of AI, robotics, new materials, and results of processing large volumes of data.”This shows that young scientists are interested in directions that contribute to the technological leadership of our country – such a national goal has been set by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Congratulations to the winners, I wish you continued development for the good of our country!” – stated Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Research on the winners corresponds to the priorities of the scientific and technological development Strategy of the Russian Federation.
“Behind every application is a huge research effort, bold scientific ideas, support from mentors, and the aspiration of young scientists to push Russian science forward. Among the winners are graduate students and adjuncts who already have significant scientific results: publications in leading scientific journals, developments, and participation in large-scale projects. Many of them are engaged in applied research that is in demand by the economy and industry. It is precisely such young people who will define the scientific and technological future of Russia,” emphasized the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov.
More than 6 thousand applications from 79 regions of Russia were submitted to the competition in total. Compared to last year, the number of participants has increased by more than 30%.
The winners were representatives of all federal districts, including two candidates from historical regions. The largest number of applications was submitted in the direction of “Technical Sciences”.
