Within the framework of the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2026,” a plenary session “From points on the map to growth points: uniting technological and financial initiatives” was held.Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin participated in it, as well as the head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Political Affairs Youssef Al-Dubei, representatives of government bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Azerbaijani Republic, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates.

The foundations and principles of the development of our country are laid down in the Strategy of Spatial Development of Russia for the period until 2030 with a forecast until 2036. Its global task and goal is to connect all regions and settlements into a unified, balanced development system. Today, the priorities of spatial development are focused on the East, on China, on the Pacific Ocean region, on developing ties with Asia. This requires a cardinal restructuring of transport flows and infrastructure. The new national project “Infrastructure for Life” integrates the entire infrastructure, which is necessary for improving the quality of the living environment, and is ready to respond to modern challenges. The construction sector has become one of the main drivers of city development and a source of investment growth. In terms of the introduction of residential and non-residential real estate last year, we reached the maximum volumes in the entire recent history of the country — 150 million square meters, more than 1 square meter per person. The tasks are large-scale, and the mechanisms created today allow for effective and prompt solutions.Comprehensive urban development programs are needed by all countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. These are rapidly developing countries where the population is growing and cities are changing quickly. We are ready to share our experience and adopt the successful experience of other OIC countries,” said Marat Khusnullin.

He added that the country faces the task of improving the quality of communal services for 20 million people by 2030. In the first year of implementation of the federal project “Modernization of communal infrastructure,” construction, reconstruction, and major repairs of more than 1,500 facilities were completed, and nearly 8,000 km of networks were replaced.

The Vice Premier emphasized that the framework of the supporting network is formed by international transport corridors “West – East”, “North – South” and Europe – Western China. Last year, automobile transportation along the international corridor increased by 11%. The largest logistics operators and marketplaces today choose automobile delivery due to predictability, high speed, and acceptable cost. The main task remains to bring the road sections into normative condition.
