General Director of PJSC “KAMAZ” Sergey Kogogin participated in the tenth congress of the Union of Russian Machine Builders, which took place yesterday, May 14, in Moscow.
Guests of the congress included the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the CEO of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov, ministers of the Russian government, and heads of the largest machine-building enterprises of the Russian Federation.
At the congress, the results of five years of the organization’s work were summed up, and the contribution of the Union of Machine Builders to the development of the domestic industry, the defense-industrial complex, personnel policy, and the country’s technological leadership was assessed.
With a welcoming word, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin addressed the participants. The head of state emphasized the success of domestic mechanical engineering and outlined the key tasks of the industry. According to the president, despite all difficulties, in recent years domestic machine builders have been operating under challenging conditions, including a break in ties with some foreign contractors and external pressure from unfriendly countries. However, the domestic industry and science have enormous potential for development, which will allow them to have key roles in all production sectors important for the economy and security.
Vladimir Putin called the chosen course for achieving technological sovereignty and strengthening defense capability not simply copying others, but creating in-demand high-tech productions.
