Within the framework of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Marat Khusnullin took part in the plenary session of the real estate exhibition on the topic “The role of artificial intelligence in the transformation of the construction industry of Russia.”

“The construction industry is one of the key drivers of economic development, stimulating related sectors and creating new jobs. The expanded construction sector today accounts for more than 20% of the country’s GDP, 40 trillion rubles, and about 13 million people employed in the sector. Over the last three years, more than 326 million square meters of housing have been introduced; in 2025, the historical maximum for individual housing will be updated – 63.5 million square meters, as well as the overall real estate delivery – about 150 million square meters. To maintain such growth rates without losing quality, modern transformation tools are necessary, and one of them is artificial intelligence.”It allows building faster, reducing costs and making housing higher quality and more affordable. By 2030, we face the task of increasing labor productivity by 22%. During the period of active comprehensive development, as well as considering the labor resources shortage, further development without artificial intelligence is simply impossible. This is one of our main tasks,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that already today a number of domestic construction companies use artificial intelligence technologies for safety control at construction sites and risk forecasting. Among the key effects are the reduction of project implementation times, cost savings, and improved quality and safety of construction.

For the systematic organization of this work based on “Glavgosexpertiza,” a Competence Center in the field of artificial intelligence has been created. An industrial competence center “Construction” is also actively working, developing and implementing artificial intelligence tools in solutions aimed at replacing foreign developments. There is also another competence center – “DOM.RF,” which forms a data platform uniting the largest developers and regional authorities, and also creates a special marketplace with verified artificial intelligence solutions for the housing sector.

The moderator of the plenary session was the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Konstantin Misaylik. Representatives of regional authorities, the construction industry, the business community, and experts also took part in the meeting.

In addition, within the framework of the forum, Marat Khusnullin inspected the International Property Market exhibition. The total exhibition area amounted to almost 1.6 thousand square meters. About 35 stands were presented at the exhibition, hosting more than 45 companies – from major developers to manufacturers of building materials and engineering equipment. Companies from Russia were represented, as well as participants from Turkey, Turkmenistan.

At the stand of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, Marat Khusnullin, together with the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Russia Irek Faizullin and the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of KazanForum Rustam Minnikhanov, gave a symbolic start to the All-Russian competition for the best projects to create a comfortable urban environment. Almost 1200 winning projects were implemented throughout the competition. Starting this year, a separate selection of improvement projects for the united and border regions is launched.

During the exhibition tour, the Deputy Prime Minister conversed with company representatives and familiarized himself with modern engineering solutions and equipment.
