Beijing, April 3 /Xinhua/ — Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, Li Keqiang, and Canada’s Minister of Finance, François-Philippe Champagne, agreed on Friday in Beijing to hold a China-Canada financial-economic strategic dialogue in the second half of the current year.
He Lifeng, who is China’s dialogue coordinator, called on both sides to implement important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, and finance, and contribute to the stable and healthy development of China-Canada economic relations.
F.-F. Champagne, the coordinator of the dialogue from the Canadian side, in turn, stated that Canada attaches great importance to relations with China and intends to jointly promote financial and economic cooperation with it to achieve even more practical results.
The parties also held a joint meeting with representatives of the China-Canada working group on financial matters and a bilateral round table of financial institutions, welcoming the intention of organizations from both countries to develop their activities in each other’s markets. –0–
