Tbilisi, May 14 /Xinhua/ — Seven people died as a result of a road traffic accident in the village of Birlik, Gardabani municipality, in eastern Georgia. Local media reported this on Thursday.
According to available information, a BMW SUV at high speed went off the road, crashed into a tree, and caught fire. Five people died at the scene, and two more died later in a medical facility.
As reported by the representative of the rural administration, Nushravan Mamedov, all those who died were young people. Some of them lived in the village of Birliki, the rest were natives of the Sagaredjo municipality.
Law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation into the violation of traffic safety and vehicle operation rules that resulted in the death of people. –0–
