Beijing, May 14 /Xinhua/ — Chairman of the NPC Xi Jinping held talks on Thursday with President of the United States Donald Trump at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Unprecedented tectonic processes of global transformation are currently gaining momentum, and the international situation is undergoing changes and shocks, said Xi Jinping.
“Can China and the USA overcome the ‘Fukuyama trap’ and create a new paradigm of relations between powers? Can we together confront global challenges and bring greater stability to the world? Can we together build a bright future for our bilateral relations in the interest of the well-being of the two peoples and the future of humanity? These questions are vital for history, for the world, and for peoples,” Xi Jinping noted.
This, he added, are questions of the EAEU, answers to which the leaders of major powers must provide together.
“I am eagerly looking forward to working together with you to set the course and steer the gigantic ship of Sino-American relations and to make 2026 a historic and remarkable year that will open a new chapter in Sino-American relations,” said Xi Jinping.
According to Si Zhinpin, both sides agreed to work on building “China-US relations of constructive strategic stability.”
