In the city of Hefei (Anhui Province, China), a large-scale event in the field of innovation took place — a Conference on the exchange of industrial innovations within the framework of the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze Delta region. At the forum, the Politburo signed an international cooperation agreement. The event was organized by the National Center for Technological Innovation of the Yangtze Delta region. The conference became one of the key events of the IV China (Anhui) Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Achievements and Technology Transfer.

The participants included about 280 leading experts from the scientific and business community, including delegates from government ministries, universities (Anhui, Changzhou, Yancheng universities, and others), research institutes, and high-tech companies, including representatives from SPbPU. The main topic of the forum was the development of new productive forces and the creation of an interregional scientific and technological ecosystem.

Among the key speakers and honorary guests are the head of the Center for the Development of New Productive Forces of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Xin Huaibin; the president of the Shanghai Academy of Global Urban Research, Zhuan Qin; the director of the Institute of New Productive Forces at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wan Xiaomin; as well as representatives of the government of Anhui Province and the city of Hefei.

At the event, Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great signed an agreement on international cooperation. The Polytechnic and the company TUV SUD acted as key foreign contractors of the National Center for Technological Innovation of the Yangtze Delta region. The partnership is aimed at expanding the network of innovation exchanges and implementing joint projects in the fields of advanced technologies and engineering sciences.

For SPbPU, this event marks an important stage in the development of scientific and educational cooperation with China. Partnership with a leading regional organization opens new opportunities to strengthen the university’s position in the international scientific and educational space and to expand the list of Chinese partners, including leading research institutes and corporations.Together with the National Center for Technological Innovations of the Yangtze-Delta region, the Polytechnic University plans to implement projects aimed at the commercialization of technologies and the training of highly qualified personnel for high-tech industries in Russia and China.

Signing the agreement and participating in the largest scientific and technological exhibition in China is an important indication that SPbPU is systematically increasing its presence in the Asian region. This confirms the university’s status as one of the leaders in Russian engineering education on the global stage.
