The “Moscow Spring” Festival was attended by about two million people

The festival has ended in the capital“Moscow Spring”, dedicated to Victory Day and the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. It was held from May 1 to 11 at 30 venues in various districts of the city. The program included concerts, readings of frontline poems, theatrical performances, sports competitions, creative and culinary activities.

“About two million people attended the festival. Residents and tourists explored the basics of folk crafts and tried traditional dishes from many regions of our country, attended performances by musical and dance ensembles,” noted

Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

Guests of the center were expecting master classes. Thus, they made postcards for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, invented plots for video sketches about friendship. In addition, the children learned to sculpt clay toys, plant spicy herbs and root crops, and got acquainted with the features of Gzhel, Zhostovo, Uftyuzh, and Mezen painting styles.

In several locations, culinary lessons were held: participants prepared Udmurt perekachi with a cheese and egg filling, Ossetian soup with chicken and vegetables, Arkhangelsk kozuli, as well as navy-style macaroni, stewed potatoes with bacon and herbs.

Try kulebyaka, Karelian pies kalitki, Buryat buuz and other national dishes were invited to Tverskoy Boulevard — one of the main venues of the festival. Here you could also watch performances by folk ensembles, join dance master classes and folk games.

The festival’s stage program included performances by creative collectives from various regions of the country. For children, theatrical productions such as “Dobrynya Nikitich and Zmey Gorynych,” “Northern Tale,” and “Altai Legends” were prepared. Many events were dedicated to May 9th. These included the musical and poetic production “Lines Scorched by War,” the play “Banner of Victory,” concerts “Moscow Spring of Victory: Voices of Generations,” “Great War — Great Victory,” and “Spring of 1945.”

At the fair in various corners of the capital, handmade items were offered for purchase: jewelry, candles, kokoshniks, knitted toys, and more.
