Abu Dhabi, April 2 /Xin Hua/ — The United Arab Emirates is ready to participate in any measures to ensure the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating regional tensions. This was announced on Thursday by the UAE Minister of State Khalifa bin Shaheen Al-Marar.
As noted by the Minister of State in an interview with the newspaper “Al-Ittihad,” the UAE is ready to contribute to efforts to ensure the safety of sea routes, which through this is a strategically significant waterway.
He emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is an international transport corridor, the use of which is governed by international law, and any attempt to block it constitutes a violation of international law and poses a threat to global security.
Khalifa bin Salman al-Marar added that the UAE intends to defend its rights following the “Iranian aggression,” and reiterated the country’s readiness to participate in collective measures to ensure regional stability.
