Memorials dedicated to the events and heroes of the Great Patriotic War preserve the memory of them, capture the feat of the victorious people, and serve as a moral guideline for future generations, reminding them of the value of peace and freedom. On the eve of the 81st Victory anniversary, places in the region near such sites are being beautified, including in Donbass and Novorossiya. For example, this year, the state company “Avtodor” brought 26 monuments and military burial sites, located along the repaired roads, into order. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Government Marat Khusnullin.
“As during the years of war, so now, during the special military operation in Donbass and Novorossiya, roads are key and strategic objects, and road workers are among the first to go to job sites. Therefore, specialists take responsibility not only for the repair of the pavement but also for the improvement of memorial sites. This year, Avtodor, together with representatives of local administrations, has brought into order 9 memorials in the Donetsk People’s Republic, 3 in the Lugansk People’s Republic, and 14 in the Zaporizhzhia region,” said Marat Husnullin.
On the Independence Day, the territories around memorials, monuments, and mass graves along the roads of Nikolaevka – Starognatovka, Shastnoye – Stepano-Krynka, Khlebodarovka – Golubitskoye, P-150 – Krasnovka, Volnovakha – Kirillovka, Korsun – Enakievo, Olgovatka – Nikishino, Uglegorsk – Kondratyevka, Kirovskoye – Orlovo-Ivanovka – Rassyipnoye were put in order.
In LNR, work was carried out along the Georgievka – Rovenki, Antratsit – Dolzhansky – Dyakovo and Georgievka – Rovenki – Sverdlovsk routes.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, areas near the Chernihivka – Novopoltavka – Semenivka – Basan, Tokmak – Kirovo – Zarechne routes have been improved, from the village of Menchikury to Dneprovka, and from Grushevka to Udarnik.
“Improvement of memorial sites is a confirmation of endless gratitude and reverence for the feat of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War. We honor the courage, bravery, and heroism of those who fought for the peaceful sky. This work allows us to preserve the memory of the heroism of the defenders of the Fatherland. In the course of the work to improve memorial sites in the reunited region, we have united with local administrations. We carried out cleaning of the territories, clearing from garbage and branches and overgrowth, mowing the grass, whitewashing curb stones, cleaning the interplate space from vegetation, painting fences and monuments.””At some sites, they have arranged pull-in pockets,” noted Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the state company “Avtodor”.
