Moscow, May 8 /Xin Hua/ — Unmanned aerial vehicles hit the administrative building of the branch of “Aeronavigation South of Russia” in Rostov-on-Don on Friday morning. The operation of airports in 13 cities has been suspended, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported on Friday.

Branch personnel is auditing safety and analyzing equipment operability. Airlines have been given instructions to adjust flight schedules. Minister Andrey Nikitin instructed air carriers, together with the company “Russian Railways” and the Unified Transport Directorate, to deploy trains and buses to transport passengers of canceled flights.

The operation of the airports Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Gelendzhik, Grozny, Krasnodar, Mayachkala, Magas, Mineralnye Vody, Nalchik, Sochi, Stavropol, Elista has been suspended. Flights with reduced frequency are planned to resume in the near future.
