London, May 8 /Xin Hua/ — Infection with the antavirus has been confirmed in two British citizens, with one more Briton suspected. The infected are on the island of Tristan da Cunha in the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean, British health agency reported on Friday.
None of the British citizens on board the cruise liner MV Hondius currently show symptoms, but they are under close observation, the agency said, adding that upon returning to the UK, they and all crew members will be advised to self-isolate for 45 days.
On Sunday, a ship will dock at the port of the Spanish island of Tenerife, and British government officials will arrive on site to provide support.
According to agency information, seven British citizens disembarked from a vessel on the island of Saint Helena in the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean on April 24. Two of them returned to the United Kingdom, are self-isolating at home, and report no symptoms.
Four of them remain on the island of Saint Helena, and the location of the seventh has been established outside the United Kingdom. –0–
