At the press frame plant “KAMAZ” for the first time held a professional skills competition in nine key specialties.

Applications for participation were submitted by 67 employees from 21 factory divisions. As part of the theoretical section, contestants underwent testing. The examination sheet contained ten questions, most of which were on technology. For a correct answer without errors, the participant was awarded 10 points; the remaining 90 points could be earned in practical work. The main criteria for evaluating the second part of the competition were compliance with occupational safety rules, a high level of technological training, product quality, and adherence to the time norm (on average, 30 minutes were allocated to complete the task).

All nine divisions of the organization approached the competition sites with full responsibility. In the repair and mechanical center, new hydraulic distributors were provided for testing. This device had to be disassembled and then assembled by the competition participants. Machine tool adjusters with CNC on the laser installation cut steel parts — while it was important to set the optimal cutting modes. Maximum accuracy and precision were expected from the fitters and toolmakers, for whom eight workplaces were prepared in the center for the production of dies. Each participant had to make a template according to the sizes. In this chassis, electrowelders on automatic and semi-automatic machines performed the butt and lap joints. The largest time limit for completing the competition task—three hours—was allotted to design engineers. During this time, each of the 12 specialists had to develop a construction drawing for the removal of the stamped blank from the die on a mechanized conveyor transporter.

As a result of the competition, the winners included electrician for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment Alexander Glinka (repair and maintenance shop of the plant’s bodywork painting equipment); repair mechanic Ilya Tugbaev (repair and mechanical shop); forklift driver Ildar Bayramgulov (transport and warehouse workers shop); painter Lyudmila Politova (plant bodywork painting shop); tool mechanic Dmitry Khusainov (press plant bending technology shop); automatic and semi-automatic welder Denis Piskunov (plant chassis welding and painting shop); design engineerMarcel Mirzagitov (department of the chief designer of stamping tooling); KShO adjuster Georgiy Salnikov (head of a large stamping press plant)
