Islamabad, May 7 /Xin Hua/ — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan expressed hope on Thursday that a potential agreement between the United States and Iran could be reached “sooner rather than later.”
“We expect an agreement sooner rather than later,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Husayn Andrabi at a weekly briefing in response to a question about the negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
She said that Pakistan is ready to facilitate dialogue and called the country an honest mediator. “As an honest facilitator and mediator, we are obliged to adhere to information and will protect all information,” said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding that Pakistan will be happy with any agreement, regardless of where it is reached.
“If this happens in Islamabad, it will be an honor and a privilege,” he added.
