Beijing, May 7 /Xin Hua/ — China calls on the authorities of Paraguay to come to the right side of history as soon as possible, to make the right choice: to recognize the principle of one China and break off the so-called “diplomatic relations” with the administration of Taiwan, said the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lin Song Thursday.
A Chinese diplomat made this statement at another departmental press conference, commenting on the provocative trip of the president of Paraguay to Taiwan. Lin Xian emphasized that the One China principle is the fundamental norm of international relations and a widely recognized consensus of the international community, and 183 countries have already established diplomatic relations with China based on the One China principle. -0-
