On Wednesday, May 6, in Naberezhnye Chelny, with the support of PJSC “KAMAZ,” a concert of the combined Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theaters under the direction of conductor Valery Gergiev took place. The performance was held in the Organ Hall of the city as part of the XXV Moscow Easter Festival.
Traditionally, workers and veterans of “KAMAZ”, company partners, school teachers, and cultural institution staff of the city were invited to the event. Artists from the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theatres, as well as the audience in the hall with the stage, were greeted by Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alfiy Kogogin, First Deputy General Director of PJSC “KAMAZ” – Executive Director Irek Gumerov, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev.
Alfiya Kogoginathanked the musical ensemble and the artistic director Valery Gergiev for the performance:“I want to express words of immense sincere gratitude for the fact that through music you sow eternal, rational, and kind feelings in our souls. Valery Gergiev, in turn, stressed that he always rides a «KAMAZ» and to Naberezhnye Chelny with the awareness that he is going to friends. The maestro also expressed confidence that music will help people in realizing the true picture of the world:“Today we performed works by Mozart and Tchaikovsky. The greatest musicians hear the world in their own way. And I believe that, thanks to brilliant creativity, the whole world — so complex, contradictory, sometimes losing its balance point — will again return to the fullest possible ‘hearing’ of everything that is happening now.”
Let us remind you, this is already the eleventh visit of the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra to Naberezhnye Chelny, while within the framework of the Moscow Pass Festival, the ensemble performed for the ninth time. Avtograd was included in the tour program at the personal request of the general director of “KAMAZ”, Sergey Kogogin.
