Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov presented the interim results of the application campaign for the “Zemsky Teacher” program. This program is implemented within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children” following the instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
“Thanks to the program “Zemsky Teacher” of the national project “Youth and Children,” implemented on the instructions of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, initiative teachers passionate about their work come to villages and small towns. And this work helps ensure equally high-quality education in the most remote corners of Russia. This year, more than 8 thousand teachers have already applied to participate in the program. In total, more than 1,200 vacancies are planned to be filled as a result of the competitive selection – twice as many as in 2025.”I thank the teachers who have already submitted applications, and I urge those who are still thinking to take a step towards a new stage of life,” Dmitry Chernyshenko noted.
Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov announced that the program “Zemsky Teacher” has been uniting talented and devoted teachers to their work for the sixth year.
“We consistently create conditions so that every child, regardless of their place of residence, has equal opportunities to receive quality education and comprehensive development. That is why it is important to support teachers who are ready to work in rural schools and remote areas. Thus, participants in the ‘Zemsky Teacher’ program receive a one-time compensation of 1 million rubles, and specialists who move to the Far Eastern Federal District, Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions—2 million rubles,” commented Sergey Kravtsov.
Let us remind you that in 2025, all 599 vacancies in 79 regions of the country were filled. Among the leading regions were the Republic of Mordovia, Zabaykalsky, Krasnodar, and Stavropol Krais, Irkutsk and Sverdlovsk Oblasts, as well as the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
The “Zemsky Teacher” program started in 2020. It provides an opportunity to supply educational organizations with teaching staff located in rural areas, urban-type settlements, or cities with a population of up to 50,000 people, as well as in closed administrative-territorial formations.
