Minsk, May 1 /Xin Hua/ — In Belarus, May 1 is traditionally celebrated vividly throughout the country as Labor Day. On this day, Belarusian trade unions organized many entertainment events, in which all those willing participated both as families and entire labor collectives.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated his compatriots on the holiday. “On this May Day, we solemnly honor all the workers who contribute their knowledge, professionalism, and talent to strengthening the country’s economy, forming a strong foundation for a happy future of Belarusians,” quoted Alexander Lukashenko’s press service.

The Belarusian leader also assured that the country has longstanding May Day traditions established by previous generations, which will be passed on to Belarusian youth, ensuring the further development and flourishing of Belarus.

During the holiday day in the capital and throughout all the regions of the country, concert programs and sports events were held. In addition, the best workers of industries and the best labor collectives were traditionally congratulated. In Minsk, the main festive venue was Victory Park, where, as part of the republican campaign “Women who created an era,” family dynasties were honored.
