Implementation of the federal project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment” in the Siberian Federal District.

The Siberian Federal District, occupying more than a quarter of Russia’s territory and endowed with vast natural resources and minerals, makes a significant contribution to the national economy. Within the framework of the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment,” which will be included in 2025 as part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life,” public spaces are being consistently transformed here. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Government Marat Khusnullin.

“The President set the task of improving the living environment in the supported settlements by 30% by 2030. We consistently move towards its achievement, despite the difficulties. Thus, within the framework of the federal project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment,” more than 80.6 thousand spaces have been renovated across Russia since 2019. The Siberian Federal District is one of the leaders by the number of projects: since 2019, 10.9 thousand territories have been improved here, including more than 4.5 thousand public spaces, about 6.4 thousand courtyards, as well as 102 winning projects of the All-Russian competition for the creation of a comfortable urban environment.”It is important that such spaces not only make cities more attractive, but also stimulate entrepreneurial activity: new jobs are created, the investment climate of regions improves. I am confident that Siberia will continue to set high standards in creating a comfortable and modern urban environment,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that since the beginning of 2025, about 978 spaces have been provided in the Siberian Federal District, and 31 winning projects of the all-Russian competition have been implemented.

“One of the key results of the work is the development of small and medium-sized businesses: cafes, rental points, souvenir shops, and stores are appearing. During the implementation of the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment,” 30.8 thousand jobs were created, and more than 6.9 thousand new commercial outlets were opened. Moreover, improvement programs are becoming increasingly popular and in demand — the residents themselves are actively involved in the processes of transforming their cities and settlements.”So, within the framework of the next, already the sixth All-Russian online voting for improvement projects, which started on April 21, record numbers are being recorded – as of today, more than 5 million votes have already been collected. Each resident can influence what their city will become. The winning projects of the all-Russian competition, such as “Dinopark” in Sharypovo, the embankment in Rubtsovsk, the “Metallurgists’ Park” in Guryevsk, and the recreation area in Seversk, demonstrate how with the help of modern architectural solutions, understanding the needs of citizens and the features of local identity, ordinary public spaces can be transformed into new urban landmarks, popular places that attract both residents and guests of the region,” emphasized the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Irek Faizullin.

So, for example, in the city of Sharypovo in Krasnoyarsk Krai, an unusual project has appeared – the winner of the “Dinopark” competition. This is a modern public space that combines science, entertainment, and family recreation. There are children’s areas with dinosaurs and a volcano climbing wall, a stream, a fountain, paleontological stands, alleys with moving dinosaurs, mazes, and recreation areas with hammocks. “Dinopark” has become a tourist attraction: souvenir business and food service are developing in the city, and Sharypovo has gained a recognizable brand associated with paleontological discoveries.

In ZATO Seversk of Tomsk region, following the results of the competition victory, they landscaped the area near the reservoir in the natural park: they created a “swamp garden,” an ecotrail, a site for young naturalists, conducted cleaning of the reservoir, installed wooden decking, pergolas, swings, benches, and birdhouses.

In Rubtsovsk, Altai Krai, the landscaping of the park-embankment on the right bank of the Aleya River (4.2 hectares) has been completed: a “flying trail” was made, along with a pavilion, children’s and sports grounds, lighting, and the territory was connected by a pedestrian bridge.

In the city of Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, the “Kan-Perevoz” embankment has been renovated, featuring an amphitheater, a yoga area, a hammock, a river fountain, a pontoon module, and a memorial stele honoring the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

In the city of Guryevsk, Kemerovo Region, the “Metallurgists’ Park” was reconstructed: zones for relaxation with chess tables, areas for active and family leisure, ski roller tracks, sports grounds, pergolas, rotundas, an open-air cinema, a yoga area, and energy-saving lighting appeared. The work was synchronized with the restoration of the local history museum and the renovation of the sports school.
