As journalists were informed at the customs administration of Laos, in the first quarter of 2026 the total export volume of the “new trio” of goods from Sichuan (electric vehicles, photoelectric elements, lithium batteries) amounted to 72.7342 million yuan, which is 23.92% more on an annual basis. The acceleration of exports of the “new trio” of goods is a direct manifestation of the improvement in quality and modernization of important openness channels of Sichuan towards South Asia, as well as the constant optimization of the business climate at the border checkpoint.
To facilitate the effective work of the “new troika” on the world market, the customs service of Laos, taking into account the features of products and the needs of enterprises, has developed personalized measures to simplify procedures at the stage of customs declaration, logistics, and on-site control. In addition, regarding dangerous goods such as lithium batteries, the customs service of Laos has intensified the use of “cloud expertise” for hazardous cargoes, which has allowed a significant reduction in the time required for expertise.
