Six educational institution buildings will be renovated in the southwest of the capital as part of the large-scale “My School” reconstruction program. Work is being carried out at School No. 1507 on Profsoyuznaya Street (building 132, block 9) in Tepliy Stan; No. 1212 on Vilnyusskaya Street (building 14) in Yasenevo; No. 1948 on Novocheremushkinskaya Street (building 62, block 2) in the Cheremushki district; No. 46 on Obrucheva Street (building 28a) in the Obruchevsky district; No. 1368 on Yuzhnobutovskaya Street (building 135a) in Southern Butovo; and No. 2114 on Dmitry Donskoy Boulevard (building 14a) in Northern Butovo. Their total area exceeds 52 thousand square meters.

Repair work

The renovation of buildings is carried out in accordance with unified requirements for zoning, exterior and interior finishes, lighting, and other parameters of educational institutions in Moscow. At the same time, each school applies the standard flexibly, taking into account the structural features of the buildings and the age of the children studying there. Of the six buildings, two have a “turtle” type structure, two — “square”, one of which has an extension, one — “airplane”, and one more is built according to an individual design.

“The schools were built in 1972–1998. They no longer met modern requirements. After dismantling, ceiling slabs were installed in these buildings, door openings and spaces under all engineering communications were reinforced with metal structures, walls and partitions were erected in the rooms, windows were installed, walls and ceilings were plastered and puttied. Facade work was performed to install insulation and a reinforced base layer of plaster, as well as the laying of the lower protective layer of the roof.”To protect the foundation and basement part of the building from taliks, rain, and groundwater, waterproofing of the foundation was done,” the press service said.

Department of Capital Repairs of the City of Moscow.

Specialists are currently upgrading engineering communications. They are completely replacing ventilation and air conditioning systems, water supply and sewage systems, power supply, and low-current networks. Instead of cast iron radiators, energy-efficient radiators with the ability to adjust the temperature in the room are being installed. Modern ventilation, wired internet, and Wi-Fi are being laid in the office, as well as new low-current networks for fire safety systems, video surveillance, access control, and management. In addition to this, inter-room translucent doors are being installed and the premises are being finished with final decoration.

Room update

Glass partitions were erected in the classroom at a height of 1.2 meters from the floor for better lighting in the corridor. Stained glass windows on the staircase landing were damaged, and the handrails were replaced with multi-level ones — for children of different ages.

Reducing noise in the room where it is needed will be helped by ceilings with acoustic panels. They not only provide sound insulation, but also do not deteriorate from wet cleaning, which is important to carry out regularly in educational institutions.

The walls are decorated in light tones with bright accents. Tambours and vestibules are decorated with light brick-like tiles, while dining halls, washrooms in front of them, and restrooms are adorned with ceramic tiles.

In all rooms, except sports halls, tiles with a concrete-like texture were laid on the floor. On the first floor, a more durable porcelain stoneware was used, while on the upper floor — PVC tiles, which better dampen the sound of footsteps. Dirt protection grilles will be installed in the vestibule. The stair steps have anti-slip notches. The sports hall will now have a special parquet floor, on which not only gymnastics but also choreography can be practiced.

In the corridor and recreation areas, drinking fountains will be installed instead of coolers. A special coating for drawing with chalk will be applied to part of the walls. They will equip operable window sills where you can sit, relax, and engage in creativity.

For optimizing electricity consumption in the building, modern energy-efficient LED luminaires are installed. In the cabinet above the boards, additional specialized luminaires are placed.

Special attention is given to the arrangement of sanitary zones. In the washrooms near the dining room, white solid sinks convenient for use are installed. Restrooms are equipped with modern sinks and toilet stalls with doors. Near all sinks, there are mirrors, soap dispensers, electric hand dryers, paper towel holders, and trash bins.

The post will be equipped with video surveillance, access control, and management systems. Convenient soft furniture will be placed in the lobby, corridor, and recreation area for comfortable waiting.

Some cabinets are connected by a sliding transformable partition, thanks to which in case of necessity the space can be turned into a large room for holding events. There will also be laboratory and research complexes for natural science, which will allow schoolchildren to try themselves in various natural sciences.

Instead of the usual libraries, updated schools are equipped with media centers featuring zones for individual and group activities. They are intended for communication, project work, additional education, organization of extracurricular activities, and holding competitions and contests.

In addition, convenient and clear navigation is provided. The premises are equipped with modern educational, sports, technological equipment and furniture.

Improvement of schoolyard territories

Landscaping and schoolyard territories with a total area of more than 11.5 hectares are being improved. Specialists are now finishing dismantling coverings and existing sports and play equipment. At the same time, they began laying cable ducts.

In addition, the coverings of sidewalks and roadways within the boundaries of the improvement area are being renewed. Video surveillance and access control systems are being installed on the territory, and fences are being replaced.

Near the school buildings, a physical education and sports area will be equipped with facilities for passing the GTO standards, playing football, basketball, and volleyball, table tennis, as well as gymnastic areas and obstacle courses. In addition, a sports core with running tracks and a jumping pit will appear.

Also planned is landscaping in the yard zone with the installation of parking for bicycles and scooters, the creation of spaces for school-wide events and places for quiet relaxation. There will also be playgrounds for active games corresponding to the age of the students.

For orientation in the space, informational steles and navigation signs will be installed. For safe stay in the evening time on the school grounds, lanterns with energy-saving lamps will be placed. In addition, additional landscaping will be carried out: the lawn will be broken up and trees will be planted.

Thanks to the reconstruction, schools will be transformed into comfortable, safe, technological, and most importantly, hospitable spaces where children will have the opportunity not only to study more effectively but also to spend their free time – engaging in sports, creativity, and many other activities.

Renovated schools will open their doors for students on September 1, 2026.
