Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko spoke at the educational marathon “Knowledge. First” with a lecture on the topic “Unity in values – the foundation of Russia’s future.” The “Knowledge” society marathon, dedicated to the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, is being held at the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh.”
Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized that it is precisely values that allow one to remain on the path of correct development and make the right decisions. According to him, Russia is one of the few countries where national values are enshrined in a Presidential decree.
Among these values, the Vice Prime Minister noted collectivism, mutual assistance and mutual respect, historical memory and the continuity of generations, creative labor, and service to the Fatherland.
As modern examples of collectivism and unity, he cited the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, volunteer assistance in cleaning beaches in the Kerch Strait, the fight against man-made disasters in Dagestan, and support for heroes – fighters in the special military operation.
“Mutual assistance and mutual respect are the foundation of solidarity in society. We know that in Russia everyone is ready to help another when they understand that it is truly needed. There are quite a few examples in history of people self-organizing in the name of this value. Today, the spirit of mutual aid has not only remained the same but grows every year. In Russia, millions of volunteers selflessly give the most valuable thing they have — their time,” said Dmitry Chernishenko.
He emphasized that in Russia, history has always been respected and ancestors honored. Thus, the Russian military-historical society restores monuments, conducts research, opens multimedia parks “Russia – My History”, and organizes campaigns like “Victory Dictation”, “Immortal Regiment”.
Dmitry Chernyshenko added that one more value that unites the people of Russia is creative work. Future entrepreneurs today can participate in various programs – “Startup as a diploma,” “Young marketer” from Rosmolodezh and others.
One more fundamental cultural and historical code is serving the Fatherland. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that today, according to surveys, 83% of young people believe in the possibility of self-realization in Russia: “Scientists and engineers, doctors and teachers, our defenders in the SVO zone and many others – all together work for the good of our country. When you realize your potential, you become true professionals, and this is also serving our Fatherland.”
He added that one of the strongest factors of unification is science. The continuation of the best traditions of domestic fundamental science has become the development of megascience infrastructure. Already this year in the science city of Koltsovo, Novosibirsk region, the “Siberian Ring Photon Source” (“SKIF”) will be launched.
The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that four years ago in Russia, under the directive of Vladimir Putin, the Decade of Science and Technology was launched, one of the main tasks of which is to attract talented youth to science.
The key event of the Decade — the Congress of Young Scientists, which annually unites thousands of young science leaders from around the world. Another Decade initiative is “Science and Business.” Since 2022, a platform for university technological entrepreneurship has been developing, thanks to which almost 45 thousand projects have been created, and 7 thousand students have received up to a million rubles to implement their innovative ideas. Support for engineers and inventors is dedicated to the “Inventor of the Year” contest, held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators.
Uniting the residents of our country and tourism. “By order of the President of Russia, since 2021, the national project ‘Tourism and Hospitality Industry’ has been implemented, within which new tourist routes are being created, infrastructure is being built and modernized, and the tourism potential of our country is being promoted,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
Youth can go on a journey across the country thanks to the Rosmolodezh program “More Than a Journey.” More opportunities for students are posted on the studturizm.rf platform, and on the nauka.rf platform there are more than 1.3 thousand objects of scientific and popular tourism and 99 tourist routes. The Deputy Prime Minister added that the list of settlements included in the “Golden Ring” route has been expanded, and automobile and patriotic routes are available on the national portal Puteshestvuem.rf.
Dmitry Chernyshenko invited the participants of the marathon to join the International Youth Festival, which will take place in Yekaterinburg from September 11 to 17, and the International Tourism Forum “Travel!” from June 10 to 14 in Moscow at VDNH.
At the end, the Deputy Prime Minister answered the participants’ questions and told them about the youth project and program where they can receive support for their initiatives.
Note that the “Knowledge.First” marathon will take place until April 30 on the eve of the celebration of the Day of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of Russia, which is being celebrated in the country for the first time this year. Marathon sites are open in each of the federal districts. The event is organized within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children”.
