The results of the fifth season of the popular science video contest “Do You Know? Teach!” have been summed up. This year, the contest once again confirmed its significance as a platform for supporting talented young people capable of explaining science accessibly and engagingly. 18 people became winners, and another 36 became prizewinners of the contest.

The “Do You Know? Teach!” contest is shaping a new generation of science popularizers who can speak simply about complex topics. Over five seasons of the contest, participants have sent more than 12 thousand videos, over 2 thousand of them in the jubilee fifth season. It is especially important that the children do not just share facts and stories but sincerely engage with science. Congratulations to the winners and prize-winners! May your enthusiasm last for many years to come, and may your interest in science never wane.”In the decade of science and technology announced by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the Government will continue to create opportunities for realizing the potential of children and youth,” noted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Valery Falkov, emphasized the significant role of the competition among the events of the Decade of Science and Technology.

“Children from all over the country immerse themselves in current issues of scientific and technological development in order to later convey the acquired knowledge to their peers in simple and understandable language. We see how, thanks to the competition, science is becoming increasingly attractive for young boys and girls. I am sure many of them will choose the profession of a scientist for themselves,” said the minister.

Over the course of five months, starting from October 2025, schoolchildren published their videos in 6 thematic categories reflecting the activities of the competition partners: “Digital View of the Planet: Satellites and Drones”, “Smart Materials in the Cities of the Future”, “Engine Building”, “Device of the Future: from Idea to Drawing”, “Science, History, Man”, and “Instruction on Artificial Intelligence That Everyone Will Understand.”Partners of the competition became the GK “Geoskan”, “Sibur”, JSC “United Engine Corporation”, All-Russian public-state movement of children and youth “Movement of the First”, editorial office of “Avanta” publishing house “AST” and “Avito”.

Initially, all videos were evaluated by the expert council for compliance with the competition rules and selected nomination, as well as for scientific accuracy and creativity. As a result, a shortlist of 162 semifinalists was formed: 27 participants in each nomination. The winners were determined by the jury based on four criteria: mastery of the topic and its disclosure, originality of the concept, visual quality and editing, as well as the level of material presentation. The jury consisted of representatives of government authorities, the scientific community, and the contest partners.

The “Know? Teach!” contest is important from the point of view of career guidance: it helps children better understand their interests and possibilities. It is especially valuable that parents are involved in it – they assist in filming, editing, and conducting experiments. For us, the contest represents a practical interest: “Sibur” pays great attention to the development of new materials, including environmentally friendly ones and those that improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes. Among the videos submitted to the contest, there are ideas that attract the attention of our specialists both by their practical value and by their creative approach.”We will be glad if participants choose a specialized education in the future and build their careers with our company,” noted the head of the practice for working with young specialists at SIBUR, Ernest Khasanshin.
