Washington, April 27 /Xinhua/ — Koulou Thomas Allen, who carried out the shooting on Saturday evening at the dinner of the White House Correspondents’ Association, was charged on Monday with attempted assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump.
On Monday, K. T. Allen appeared before the federal court of the Columbia district for the first time since the shooting.
He was charged with three counts: attempted assassination of the President of the United States, transportation of weapons across states, and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
According to law enforcement agencies, 31-year-old K. T. Allen arrived from California to Washington (District of Columbia) by train and before the attack checked into the Washington Hilton hotel, carrying a weapon with him.
It is reported that shortly before the shooting, K. T. Allen sent an email to his relatives, in which he wrote that the officials of the D. Trump administration are “targets, with priority from the very highest to the very lowest.”
He also wrote: “I am familiar with several types of weapons, and no one allows the thought that I could pose a threat.” –0–
