Starting from May 1, 2026, applications will be accepted to participate in the fourth All-Russian competition for the best journey through the Far East and the Arctic “Far East – Land of Adventures.” The competition, which started at VEF-2022 on the initiative of the Deputy Chairman of the Government – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, has for the fourth year united travel enthusiasts from all over the country.

From May 1, 2026, applications will start being accepted for participation in the IV All-Russian contest for the best journey to the Far East and the Arctic “Far East – Land of Adventures.”

Yury Trutnev thanked all the participants of the competition and wished them success in the new season: “Dear participants of the ‘Far East – Land of Adventures’ competition, first of all, I want to say thank you to all of you. Thank you for not staying at home. Thank you for traveling. Thank you for helping to open up the Far East, the Arctic, and our entire beautiful country – Russia. I wish you good journeys, all the best and success in the next competition!”

In the fourth season of the competition, there are two innovations. First, the number of main nominations will become five. To the four traditional nominations – walking, water, winter, and Arctic journeys – one more will be added: “Paths of Victory.” It has transitioned from a special nomination category to the main one. Second, in the new season, the prize fund of the competition has increased by more than one million rubles. In particular, the prize for third place in the main nomination and for victory in the special nomination will amount to 200 thousand rubles. Previously – 100 thousand rubles.

The main rules of the competition will remain unchanged: the journey must be carried out without the use of motorized technology. Exception: with the help of technology, it is allowed to reach the starting point of the route. The duration of the film should not exceed 8 minutes, and the participant must necessarily be present in the frame. In addition, the journey must be made during the period not earlier than May 1, 2024, and not later than January 15, 2027. It is also worth remembering to notify the MChS (Ministry of Emergency Situations) about the route if it passes through hard-to-reach terrain, water, mountainous, speleological, or other objects associated with increased risk to life and health.

Already today, the video works of the winners and prize-winners are available for viewing in the Okko online cinema with an audience of 10 million people. An agreement has been reached on placing films on the platform of the digital television operator “Tricolor”. The contestants’ videos can also be watched in the entertainment system onboard Aeroflot airplanes.

In addition, an interactive map has been created and is available on the official contest website. As of today, it already contains more than 400 participant routes with the possibility to upload the track of the journey to a watch, navigator, or smartphone. The map is constantly updated and supplemented, including with films that did not make it into the list of winners.

The contest is aimed at popularizing the unique natural landmarks of the Russian Far East and the Arctic, as well as supporting enthusiasts of adventure tourism and active recreation. To participate, it is necessary to create a short film no longer than 8 minutes about your journey to the Far East or the Arctic and submit it through the website puteshestvennikdvr.rf by January 15, 2027.

The grand prize for the best video is 3 million rubles. For winning in one category, you can receive 1 million rubles; for 2nd place – 300 thousand rubles; and for 3rd place – 200 thousand rubles. Travel videos filmed by participants will be evaluated by a professional jury consisting of experts in tourism and media. Not only adults but also children from the age of ten (under adult supervision) can participate in the competition.

The experience of previous seasons of the competition has shown that it is in demand among professional travelers and lovers of active recreation. As a result of the third season, the jury received 859 participant films, which is almost one and a half times more than last year.

The competition is held with the support of the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, JSC “Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic” and the NGO “Fund for the Development of Social Initiatives”.
