Urumqi, April 25 /Xin Hua/ — In the first quarter of 2026, exports of fruits and vegetables from China through the Khorgos East Gate (KPP) of Cizimen-Maigapchagai on the Chinese-Kazakh border in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (Northwest China) increased by 532.5 percent year-on-year to 54.48 million yuan (about 7.97 million U.S. dollars), customs data show.
According to local customs data, during the reporting period, imports and exports through the KPP Czimunai-Maygapkha demonstrated a dynamic trend of significant growth and diversification of structure. In particular, imports through this KPP of agricultural products amounted to 36.507 million yuan in monetary terms, an increase of 62.4% in annual terms. The main export items were grain, oil, livestock products, and other types of specific agricultural products.
In addition to fruits and vegetables, there was also an observed increase in the export of such product names as furniture and its components, as well as ceramic products, added in the customs service.
According to recently published data from the General Customs Administration of the PRC, China’s trade with Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 46.6 percent year-on-year, totaling 13.243 billion USD. In particular, exports of Chinese goods to Kazakhstan during the reporting period grew by 7.1 percent to 6.443 billion USD, while imports of products from Kazakhstan reached 6.8 billion USD, increasing by 125.2 percent year-on-year. -0-
