Tbilisi, April 24 /Sina/ — The deep-water seaport construction project in Anaklia has entered an active construction phase after the completion of mobilization work. This was announced on Friday by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Tamar Ioselian.
According to her, the contractor, Belgian company Jan De Nul, is already commencing active construction work.
As T. Ioselian noted, the port’s development is carried out as part of an integrated approach, including the modernization of railway infrastructure, construction of highways, and development of the aviation sector, including the international airport Vaziani project.
The implementation of the project is a priority task for the country with the aim of strengthening its role as a transit hub within the framework of the Middle Corridor, emphasized the deputy minister.
