Tatyana Golikova took part in the award ceremony for the first national prize “Big Family of Russia”.

Vice Premier Tatyana Golikova delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the All-Russian conference “Demographic Breakthrough in Russia: Ways of Achievement,” and also participated in the awarding of the winners of the first national prize “Big Family of Russia.”

Opening the conference, Tatyana Golikova emphasized that making the large, traditional family a development trend for the country is a task set by the President of Russia, and the Government, state and public institutions, and the media must make maximum efforts to ensure that this is the case.

She added that with the participation of the country’s leading demographic scientific school, the D.I. Mendeleev Institute of Demographic Policy developed and the Government approved a Strategy for the implementation of family demographic policy and support for large families. The plan for its implementation begins specifically with measures to strengthen the family institution, protect and preserve, and promote traditional values and family way of life.

“By the order of the Head of State, key national projects include measures aimed at improving the quality of life of families and increasing the birth rate. We strive to respond to all requests from families, improve conditions in our work, and express gratitude to our families with children and parents,” said Tatyana Golikova.

She emphasized that since last year, mother-heroines have been equated in terms of support to Labor Heroes. They received the right to choose — to receive additional monthly payments or a package of benefits. Also, each mother-heroine will simultaneously receive, along with her pension, additional monthly support in the amount of 36,500 rubles.

In the length of service for parents with many children, the period of supervision of each child up to 1.5 years is now taken into account without limitation. Pensions have already been recalculated for more than 400 thousand parents.

In addition, the vice-premier added that for working parents with two or more children with low incomes, an annual family payment has been introduced – this affects more than 4 million families raising almost 11 million children.

Tatiana Golikova, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Central Federal District of Russia, Igor Shchyogolev, TASS General Director Andrei Kondrashov, and Roman Trotsenko, founder of the AZOT group of companies, awarded the winners of the first national prize “Big Family of Russia.” The prize is established for media representatives for the best coverage of family topics in the information space.

“Today we will announce for the first time the first winners of the national award ‘Big Family of Russia.’ Once again, I want to emphasize how pleased we are with the activity of journalists, the heartfelt warmth and sincerity with which journalists told about those families who live in the territory and their native regions. And this is very important to us because these stories, these little joys make up the history of our country,” said Tatyana Golikova.

In the nomination “Best Video Plot,” the winner was the television project “Stranger. Own. Native” by Irina Makarova (TV company “NNTV”, Nizhny Novgorod). Its heroes are Dina and Oleg Pavlov, who, having raised their biological daughter, became parents to six foster children.
