China and Thailand to Strengthen Strategic Cooperation

Bangkok, April 24 /Xinhua/ — Prime Minister of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a meeting here on Friday. The parties agreed to strengthen strategic interaction and expand cooperation in various fields.

A. Charnvirakul stated that in the face of the current restless international situation, Thailand firmly adheres to the one-China policy and is ready to cooperate with China to implement the consensus reached by the heads of the two states.

Thailand is ready to cooperate with China in the decisive fight against online gambling and telecommunications fraud in order to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries in the hearts of the peoples, he said.

A. Charnvirakul expressed gratitude to China for its tireless efforts to facilitate the proper resolution of the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, adding that he hopes China will continue to play a constructive role in this matter.

China is ready to expand cooperation with Thailand in the areas of new energy sources, infrastructure construction, agriculture, and other spheres, to promote the creation of a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable China-Thailand community of shared future, and to continuously contribute to the stability and development of the region, stated the Chinese minister.

He expressed hope that Thailand will intensify its efforts to combat online gambling and telecommunications fraud, which will create favorable conditions for the development of bilateral relations.
