Beirut, April 23 /SINA/ — The President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, on Thursday condemned Israel in connection with a recent airstrike, in which journalist Amal Khalil was killed and another reporter was wounded in the southern city of Al-Tire.
In his statement, J. Aoun stated that “the deliberate and repeated attacks by Israel on journalists are aimed at concealing the truth about its aggressive violations against Lebanon.”
He called these actions crimes against humanity, which must be punished in accordance with international law and norms, and called for international intervention to put an end to them.
Amal Khalil, a journalist for the Lebanese newspaper “Al-Akhbar,” died on Wednesday after being trapped under the rubble as a result of Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, reported the Lebanese TV channel “Al-Jadid.” –0–
