Urumqi, April 23 /Xin Hua/ — On Wednesday, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR, Northwest China), an updated public service platform in the field of cross-border e-commerce was officially launched, aimed at ensuring high-quality services for digital customs clearance and declaration to facilitate cross-border trade between Chinese enterprises and partners from Central Asia and neighboring regions.

On the new platform, the launch of which was jointly announced by the SUA Trade Administration and the Urumqi Customs, enterprises only need to fill out the report once to complete the declaration through several terminals and receive information on the status of customs clearance within a few seconds, which significantly simplifies the customs clearance process and reduces the cost of trade operations. Currently, all enterprises are provided with access to free customs declaration services on this platform.

“The activity of our company is mainly focused on the markets of Central Asia. This platform will help us a lot,” said Liu Zhifen, general director of the local foreign trade company Urumqi Tulian International Trading Co., Ltd. According to him, the platform combines the advantages of traditional foreign trade in the field of logistics and customs clearance with the convenience of online commerce, which allows faster delivery of even larger quantities of high-quality goods to the markets of Central Asia.

The head of the Urumqi customs, Hao Weimin, noted that the launch of the platform is a key step in the continuous optimization of the cross-border electronic commerce business environment in Xinjiang. Customs authorities have also implemented a number of auxiliary measures, including support for the functioning of the TIR transport / International Road Transport / system and the provision of customs clearance services on a year-round basis to further improve the efficiency of cross-border logistics between China and Central Asia.

According to the head of the USAR Xin Tao Commerce Administration, the new platform is similar to a “digital Silk Road” to facilitate cross-border electronic trade between Xinjiang and Central Asia, especially to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with broader access to participation in international trade. He assured that in the future the optimization of the platform’s functions will continue. -0-
