Beijing, April 23 /Xinhua/ — The total installed capacity of Chinese power plants as of the end of March 2026 increased by 15.5 percent on an annual basis, reaching 3.96 billion kW, the National Energy Administration of China reported on Thursday.

In particular, the department noted that by the end of March of this year, the installed capacity of the country’s solar power plants increased by 31.3% to 1.24 billion kW. The analogous indicator for wind power plants amounted to 660 million kW, having increased by 22.4% year-on-year.

According to the above-mentioned management, the average operating time of power-generating equipment in the country in the first quarter of the current year was 703 hours, which is 66 hours less than for the same period last year. -0-
