Beijing, April 21 /Xin Hua/ — Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Zhao Lezi held a meeting on Tuesday in Beijing with Vice-President of the European Parliament Janusz Omarz.
Chao Lezzi stated that China is ready to jointly implement important agreements with the European Union, reached by the leaders of the two sides, contributing to the stable and long-term development of China-European relations.
According to the chairman of the PC of the VSNF, the mechanism of exchanges between the VSNF and the European Parliament plays an important role in deepening mutual understanding and promoting practical cooperation. He expressed hope for further expansion of exchanges and cooperation between the two parties.
R. Omarji, in turn, indicated that the legislative bodies of the European Union and China have resumed regular exchanges and achieved progress, demonstrating the political will of both sides to develop relations between the EU and China.
He confirmed the European Parliament’s commitment to the one-China policy and expressed readiness to activate dialogue and exchanges with the Taiwan Affairs Office in the spirit of openness and mutual respect.
