Beijing, April 21 /Xinhua/ — In 2026, the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos will be celebrated, and this year has also been declared the Year of China-Laos Friendship, which opens important opportunities for the development of bilateral relations. Van I promised that China will use its strengths to align development strategies with Laos, expand cooperation across the entire production chain in mineral extraction, electric power, and other sectors, deepen the development of human resources, and provide support to Laos in economic transformation and industrial growth.
Salemsaï Kommasit, who is also a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the LPRP, in turn stated that Laos intends to maintain close contacts with China at a high level, jointly organize solemn events on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and deepen cooperation in areas such as interconnectivity, energy, and minerals.
He highly appreciated China’s position and role in important international and regional affairs, expressing Laos’s readiness to strengthen coordination and interaction with China.
