Almaty, April 21 /Xin Hua/ — The second nuclear power plant (NPP) in Kazakhstan will be built on the shore of Lake Balkhash in the southeast of the country. This was reported on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Agency of Kazakhstan, Almasadam Satkaliev.

According to him, the second AES already has a working name — “Moyynkum”, chosen taking into account the presumed location of the station. Currently, three promising sites are being considered, and the final construction site will be announced later.
