Beijing, April 20 /Xin Hua/ — On Monday, the first freight train traveling on the China-Central Asia railway cargo transportation route from Beijing to the Kazakh city of Almaty departed. This route was included in the schedule of regular freight train operations in China. This was reported by local media.

A railway train loaded with auto parts, mechanical equipment, and other goods will cross the state border through the Alashankou Customs Checkpoint of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region / Northwest China / and is expected to arrive in Almaty in 9 days. In the future, one train will be dispatched weekly on this route in regular service.

As it became known, such trains operate according to fixed schedules and routes, featuring significant advantages in the form of higher transportation efficiency and more stable cargo dispatch. Thus, enterprises can confidently plan production and fulfill foreign orders, which contributes to reducing logistics costs and increasing their market competitiveness.

According to a representative of the Beijing International Comprehensive Transportation Hub, which, together with the Beijing branch of the China Railway Corporation (CR), operates railway cargo transportation along a new route, the launch of the Beijing-Central Asia route in regular mode has become a new breakthrough for the Beijing International Comprehensive Transportation Hub in serving the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, ensuring a stable and efficient route in the field of cross-border logistics for the foreign trade enterprises of the Chinese capital.

Let us remind you that on March 19, 2025, the first China-Central Asia cargo train departed from Beijing, and in September of the same year, cargo transportation between Beijing and the city of Almaty was launched within the framework of the China-Europe railway transportation.
