Tianjin is activating the development of the marine economy, making it a new driving force for high-quality development.

In the field of intelligent manufacturing in Tianjin, the first “smart factory” in China for the production of marine oil and gas equipment has already been created. Being a significant force in the implementation of China’s marine engineering projects, the intelligent manufacturing base for marine engineering projects in Tianjin is equipped with more than 400 units of intelligent manufacturing equipment, ensuring digital control at all stages — from the receipt of materials to the release of finished products.

Regarding the construction of the port, Tianjin Port, being the largest integrated port in northern China, has implemented an intelligent management system, increasing the efficiency of container operations and reducing energy consumption. Currently, Tianjin Port has 150 container routes and maintains trade connections with more than 500 ports in over 180 countries and regions worldwide.

In the field of technological innovations, local enterprises in Tianjin have successfully developed domestic equipment for deep-sea research and long-distance marine navigation, overcoming dependence on imported equipment. A complete innovative industrial system has been formed in the region, covering the production of components, equipment, and related services.

Concerning the industrial structure, desalination technologies for seawater and the corresponding equipment have already been localized in Tianjin. Currently, all major chemical projects in the Nangang industrial zone use such desalinated seawater. In the future, Tianjin will focus on developing industries such as seawater desalination, the production of marine equipment, marine tourism, and shipping services, thereby forming a modern marine industry system.

Tianjin will steadfastly follow the path of development, relying on its coastal advantages, and make the marine economy an important growth pole for the city.
