Help save the living symbol of the Sayan Mountains: a fundraiser is underway to protect the Siberian mountain goat!
Imagine an animal capable of easily moving along sheer cliffs at an 80-degree angle. Where a human would need climbing gear, the Siberian ibex feels completely safe. But now it faces a wall of difficulties that this beautiful and proud species simply cannot overcome alone.
The Siberian ibex in the Tunkinsky National Park is officially listed in the Red Book. Due to harsh prolonged winters, when the rocks are covered with an impenetrable layer of ice hiding scarce food, as well as due to increasing pressure from poachers, the unique “mountaineers” of the Sayan Mountains are quietly disappearing.
The “Ecology” Fund, together with the national park, is conducting an urgent targeted fundraising campaign to extend a helping hand to animals where they are most vulnerable.
