Dmitry Malikov is a well-known Russian musician, singer, and composer. Although his name is primarily associated with pop music, in recent years the artist has been increasingly involved in environmental initiatives and promotes the ideas of conscious attitude towards the planet.
In 2023, Dmitry Malikov starred in an environmental awareness video by the Russian Environmental Operator (REO JSC). In it, he urged people to refuse excessive and non-recyclable packaging when ordering online. “It’s simple with packaging: the less, the better. Say ‘no’ to excessive packaging,” the artist noted.
Also in 2023, he took part in a community clean-up as part of the eco-festival “Chistomay” at ETNOMIR. Together with other volunteers, Malikov helped collect 82 bags of trash, 33 of which were sent for recycling. In addition, the singer joined a large-scale environmental campaign to clean up the area in Balabanovo, Kaluga Region. Participants collected 117 bags of trash, as well as bulky waste.
A special place in the artist’s environmental agenda was occupied by his anniversary concert “Summer Vibe — 55,” which took place on June 26, 2025, in the Green Theater at VDNH. The event became an example of an eco-friendly approach to organizing musical events: it was entirely powered by low-carbon electricity from the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant. During the concert, Malikov presented a new song, written as a gift to the Rosatom team for the 80th anniversary of the atomic industry.
In addition to major campaigns, Dmitry pays attention to targeted support. At the end of 2024, he supported the Sakhalin Animal Assistance Center “Kind Heart.” The artist also launched the “Kindness Challenge”: he counted the reactions under a post on his Telegram channel, multiplied the number by 50 rubles, and distributed the funds among several organizations, including “Kind Heart.”
The artist’s environmental educational work is also connected with the activities of his charity foundation “Penetrating the Heart.” Although the foundation’s primary mission is to help children, eco-educational events are included in its projects. The foundation participated in the “Eco-Moscow” eco-festival in the Losiny Ostrov National Park, where there were photo exhibitions about wildlife, tree quests, animal quizzes, and master classes.
Dmitry Malikov focuses specifically on educational work. He strives to convey to people that everyone can contribute to nature conservation: from separating waste to conscious consumption.
