In the Donetsk People’s Republic, large-scale work continues to stabilize the water supply. For example, under the control of the public-legal company ‘Territory Development Fund’, modernization of 180 km of water supply networks is underway in the republic. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“Significant resources are currently focused on solving the socially important issue of water supply in the DPR. Despite the aggravated operational situation, specialists are eliminating emerging breaks in the networks, building new ones, and replacing worn-out main pipelines. All participants in the socio-economic development program are assisting this process. Among them, the Territorial Development Fund has built two water pipelines with a total transfer length of more than 35 km in the region, and they are now modernizing about 180 km of water supply networks,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The upgrade of communal facilities is being carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Construction as part of the comprehensive development and modernization program for housing and communal services in the reunited regions.
“The modernization of housing and communal services in the reunited regions is being carried out within a comprehensive program that provides for the renewal of communal facilities and the improvement of their operational reliability. One of its priority directions in the DPR is ensuring stable water supply for residents. The Russian Ministry of Construction coordinates the implementation of measures together with the Territorial Development Fund and regional authorities. It is important not only to restore existing networks but also to create a reliable foundation for the long-term functioning of the entire system. This will improve the quality of communal services and ensure the sustainable operation of the republic’s vital infrastructure,” noted Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Almaz Khusainov.
Work in this area is critically important: every introduced object directly influences the improvement of quality of life.
“The forces and resources of the FRT are concentrated on modernizing all sectors of public utilities, particularly water supply. As of today, work under our control is deployed at more than 30 water facilities in the territory of the DPR, including a project to construct a 43-kilometer branch of the water pipeline. According to estimates, together with the implemented short-term, medium-term, and long-term measures, this will reduce losses by 12% and ensure reliable water supply to hundreds of thousands of DPR residents,” said Vasily Kupyzin, General Director of the Territorial Development Fund.
