Khorgos, October 21 /Xinhua/ — According to Khorgos Customs, from January to September of this year, 405,000 vehicles were exported through the Khorgos checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region /Northwest China/, which is 36.8 percent more than during the same period last year. Both the total export volume and the growth rate reached historical highs for the corresponding period.
Currently, Chinese-made vehicles exported through the Khorgos checkpoint are mainly supplied to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian countries, covering more than 10 countries and regions in West Asia, Eastern Europe, and other areas involved in the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
According to Wang Xuyun, the director of an international trading company in the city of Khorgos, the cars exported by the company through the Khorgos checkpoint are mainly sent to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, and other countries. So far, the company has exported more than 2,600 cars, with a trade volume of 390 million yuan.
To ensure efficient customs clearance of export vehicles, the Khorgos Customs continues to optimize control and supervisory services, reducing customs clearance time and increasing throughput efficiency. At the same time, the checkpoint constantly improves logistical infrastructure, ensures the continuity of cross-border transport corridors, and fully supports the stability of production and sales chains in the automotive export sector.
