Since the beginning of this year, inbound tourism in Lijiang (Yunnan Province) has been gaining momentum — driven by the region’s unique natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. More and more foreign tourists are coming to Lijiang to explore its attractions. According to the Lijiang Culture and Tourism Bureau, from January to August 2026, the city received 644,300 inbound tourists — an increase of 13.91% compared to the same period last year.
Currently, four international direct flight routes are open from Lijiang Airport — to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Haiphong (Vietnam), as well as to Bangkok (Thailand).
With the introduction of measures such as a 240-hour visa-free transit, the Lijiang customs, together with the airport and airlines, is developing detailed plans to ensure passenger flow and optimize customs clearance procedures. This further enhances the convenience of entry for foreign tourists.
