The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) received information that an employee of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in Ukraine died as a result of a drone attack. According to available data, the deceased was a welder in the plant’s central repair workshop.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that any attack on the personnel of a nuclear power plant is absolutely unacceptable and violates seven fundamental principles of nuclear safety and physical protection during an armed conflict.
Grossi once again called for maximum restraint to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident during the conflict.
