Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with the acting head of the Udmurt Republic, Olga Abramova. The main topics were the development of the agro-industrial complex and rural areas of the republic, as well as environmental issues.
In Udmurtia, the harvesting of grain crops is almost complete, with more than 650 thousand tons of grain threshed. In the coming years, the region plans to increase its figures and reach the production of 1 million tons of grain. Winter sowing has been carried out on an area of more than 50 thousand hectares. Dmitry Patrushev emphasized the importance of providing farmers with all necessary material and technical resources.
The republic successfully develops dairy farming, ranking fourth in the country in milk production. For three years already, the republic’s farms have maintained a level of 1 million tons per year. In the first nine months of 2026, more than 900 thousand tons have already been produced. Dairy and fat-and-oil products from Udmurtia are supplied to 13 countries worldwide.
Special attention is paid to personnel training and the establishment of an integrated educational system “school – university – enterprise.” Currently, there are 38 agrotechnical classes in the region, and an “Agrokvantorium” is being formed at the local agricultural university.
Within the framework of the state program “Comprehensive Development of Rural Areas,” 30 social and engineering infrastructure facilities are being constructed and repaired in the region, 22 improvement projects are being implemented, and 30 km of roads are being repaired. In the Sarapulsky district of the republic, a new residential area with 40 houses for poultry farm employees is being built.
Environmental protection issues were also discussed at the meeting. The Udmurt Republic is actively increasing the volume of sorting of solid municipal waste. Five waste sorting complexes are operational with a total capacity of 395 thousand tons per year. In addition, an important direction for the region within the framework of the national project “Ecological Well-being” is the preservation of forests. Thus, in Udmurtia, the early detection system for forest fires is being expanded, and work is underway on forest restoration – this year, foresters, volunteers, and tenants have carried it out over an area of 10.6 thousand hectares.
