In Moscow, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko and Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China He Lifeng held the 30th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission for the preparation of regular meetings of the heads of government.

Dmitry Chernyshenko thanked He Lifeng for the constructive work and cooperation during the past year. He expressed confidence in the possibility of achieving impressive results in joint work.

“Russian-Chinese relations are a model of cooperation between great powers and the largest neighboring states. The central events of bilateral relations were the official visit of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to China and the meeting of our leaders on the sidelines of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO members in Bishkek,” reported the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

He added that the task of the Russian-Chinese Commission for preparing regular meetings of the heads of government is to ensure the successful and effective conduct of the 31st meeting between Prime Ministers Mikhail Mishustin and Li Qiang.

“Since 2001, our trade has grown 30 times and for 3 consecutive years has confidently exceeded $200 billion. China is the main trading partner of our country. According to the Russian Federal Customs Service, the value indicators of mutual trade for the 8 months of 2026 increased by 25.8% and exceeded $189 billion. We forecast that by the end of the year, indicators will reach a historic maximum and approach between $270–275 billion. We are firmly determined to scale the turnover to $300 billion by 2030,” said the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

He added that the practice of visa-free exchange facilitates business and humanitarian contacts: “In the first half of 2026, tourist flow increased 1.5 times, reaching almost 2 million trips.” Mutual supplies of agricultural products are also growing rapidly.

Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the active development of scientific and technical cooperation. For instance, a “roadmap” is being implemented for the development of the Russian-Chinese Institute of Fundamental Research, competitions are held to support joint scientific research projects, a partnership is being developed between the Russian Science Foundation and the State Natural Science Foundation of China, and contacts between scientists from both countries are expanding within the framework of joint scientific and technical congress and exhibition events.

“To expand cooperation in the field of ‘megascience,’ we invite joint work on the Russian ‘SKIF’ installation, the creation of a Russian-Chinese experimental station at the HEPS synchrotron radiation source. We express hope for support from the Chinese side for the initiative of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. We invite Chinese researchers to participate in the sixth Congress of Young Scientists, which will take place in December this year,” concluded the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

“This year marks the 30th anniversary of strategic interaction and partnership between China and Russia. The positive results of cooperation in various fields indicate that the foundation of our success is the leadership of our leaders. This year, the leaders of our countries met twice in person, providing guidelines and strategic instructions to elevate China-Russia relations to the highest level. After the previous meeting of the commission, the parties overcame severe external challenges. Adhering to the agreement of the heads of the two countries and focusing on high-quality development, they conducted in-depth dialogue and facilitated new achievements in various areas,” said Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC He Lifeng.

From the Russian side, the event was attended by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the PRC Igor Morgulov, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Grigory Borisenko, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Konstantin Mikhaylik, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexey Buevich, and others.
