Kyiv, April 19 /TASS/ — The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) classified the shooting of civilians and the taking of hostages in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, which occurred on Saturday, as a terrorist act. This was reported on Sunday night in the “Telegram” by the SBU press service.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that six people became victims of the criminal, and another 14 people were injured.
According to V. Zelensky, the identity of the shooter has been established. He was born in Russia, lived for a long time in the Donetsk region in the southeast of Ukraine, and had previously been involved in criminal liability. The motives of the shooter are being established, and the investigators have several versions.
Reminder, on Saturday, a man armed with an automatic weapon opened fire on the streets of Kyiv, after which he barricaded himself inside a supermarket and held hostages there. During the operation to detain him, the criminal was eliminated. –0–
