Beijing, April 19 /Xinhua/ — In the first quarter of 2026, the China Enterprise Credit Index reached 162.05, which is 0.13 points lower than the indicator for the fourth quarter of 2025, but 0.39 points higher than in the third quarter of last year, according to data published on Saturday by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).

This index generally remains at a historically high level, noted by the HSE, adding that in March 2026 the index value reached 162.26, increasing by 0.17 points compared to February of the current year, while the share of enterprises with low credit risks expanded.

According to the “Action Plan for Creating a System for Comprehensive Assessment of the Credit Status of Enterprises,” announced by the Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China at the beginning of this month, China will establish institutional frameworks for conducting such an assessment, which will allow strengthening the fundamental role of the government creditworthiness assessment, as well as promote its integration with market evaluation.
