Specialists urban utilities complex They have renovated the asphalt pavement on Letchika Babushkina Street. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement. Petr Biryukov.
“Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital’s roads in proper condition. Every year, as part of the preparation for the autumn-winter period, we carry out measures to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, asphalt repairs were completed on Letchika Babushkina Street, which is one of the longest in the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug. In total, more than 70 thousand square meters of pavement were replaced,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The asphalt on this street was previously replaced in 2019. One of the reasons for the road repairs is rutting, which occurs due to heavy vehicle traffic. It causes discomfort for drivers and can reduce road safety. To promptly fix such defects, specialists regularly inspect the condition of the roads and monitor the end of warranty periods. The pavement is replaced mainly at night, when traffic is less intense.
The repair is carried out in several stages. First, specialists mill the existing surface, then they restore inspection wells and storm drain grates. After that, new asphalt is laid and road markings are applied.
Modern technologies and asphalt concrete mixtures, produced at urban plants, are used for road repairs.
