Grants for updating the material and technical base of universities and research organizations are allocated within the framework of the project “Infrastructure Development of Science and Higher Education” of the state program “Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.”
“Our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has set the attainment of technological leadership as a national goal. To achieve it, a modern research infrastructure is required. And if this year 5.7 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget for updating the equipment base for universities and research organizations, next year we plan to allocate 9.4 billion, and for 2028 and 2029 – 11.7 billion rubles each,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Thanks to the project “Infrastructure Development of Science and Higher Education,” shared-use centers and engineering centers are being created and developed in research organizations and universities, and the material and technical base is being updated. Currently, a competition is underway to select participants for the project.
“More than 50 research institutes and universities will receive support, on the basis of which it is planned to create shared-use centers, engineering centers, or continue their development. It is important that at least 25% of the grant funds must be spent on the purchase of Russian technological equipment, which will significantly update the instrument base of the organizations,” noted the head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Valery Falkov.
The minister added that thanks to the project, from 2025, 12.1 billion rubles were allocated for the development of 52 shared-use centers and engineering centers, while universities and research institutes attracted more than 2.7 billion rubles in extra-budgetary funds.
Recall that from 2019 to 2024, as part of the national project “Science and Universities,” about 60% of the equipment base of 275 organizations located in 45 regions of the country was updated. 64.2 billion rubles were allocated for this.
